Pins
A pin is a fastener that secures the position of two or more parts relative to each other. Clevis pins are usually found in a clevis fastening system and has a head at one end and a through-hole at the other end used for locking. Spring pins are self-retaining mechanical steel fasteners that compresses and expands after being inserted into the hole. A metal cotter pin has prongs that bend outward to secure. A steel or stainless steel dowel pin is used as a pivot, hinge, shaft or jig to locate and hold parts together.
