The Hex Thick Slotted Nuts are taller than Hex Slotted Nuts. Their design allows the nuts to have a higher thread count — adding strength. The nuts are used for a variety of rotating applications, including ball bearings and bushing sleeves. While fine-threaded Slotted Nuts shear in application, the additional threads of the Thick Slotted Nuts give them better gripping strength to prevent shearing. Their crown-like feature is able to support a cotter pin to lock the nuts into place.
