Techniweld USA E6010 3/16dia.
I bought the 10lb container. This rod is actually manufactured in India and is dark red like old school 5p. It's suggested amp range is 130 to 170 reverse polarity.
This particular electrode will dig and it digs hard. I turned my arc control down to 15% and dropped the amps until it started to stack dimes at a 145 amps. This was on a 2F fillet weld.
Surprised by how smooth and how good the welds looked.
Then I changed position to a 3F vertical down.
The puddle was so fluid that it was trying to over run my arc.
I dropped the amperage to 135 and kept my arc control at 15% and gave it more of a drag angle and once again I was stacking dimes with a really consistent looking weld with not a lot of splatter.
Then I did a 3G vertical down weld test on 3/8 x 8" plate. I open root welded it with 1/8" 5p+ then hot passed with 5/32 5p+ at 130 amps. Then fill and capped with this rod at 135 amps. Turned out beautiful.
I cut out the 2, 1.5" root bend straps and 1, 1.5" cap weld.
Keep mind this was vertical down. The welds had 1/16th reinforcement out of both the root side and the cap side. This rod tied in nicely at the weld toes into the plate. The bent coupons were absolutely clean. No porasity or slag inclusions.
I'm really happy with this electrode. I have been paying over 5.00 a lb for this rod.
This was cheap enough including shipping that it was well worth the price.
The welder I used was a Miller Dynasty 280.
The plate was 33 degree bevels with 1/16th root opening and 1/16th lands. Open root.
Hopefully I didn't miss anything.
