Flap Wheels
A flap wheel is a type of coated abrasive similar to a flap disc, made with multiple overlapping pieces or ‘flaps’ bonded to a central hub. When mounted on a die grinder, bench grinder, or portable drill, the flap wheel can be used for a variety of blending, deburring, and finishing applications on metal, wood, rubber, glass, plastic, and fiberglass materials. Abrasive flap wheels provide a consistent finish with a uniform rate of cut. As the flap wheel wears away it continually exposes a fresh abrasive. Having a flexible surface, the flap wheel is suitable for both flat and contoured surfaces. Mounted flap wheels are ideal for working in small, difficult to reach places and are available in 1”, 2”, and 3” diameters. Center hole flap discs can be used on larger areas and available in 4” and 6” diameters.
