Pillar Files
Pillar files are double cut on the top and bottom, with both sides of the file staying safe, or uncut. These files are parallel in width and tapered in thickness. They come in wide and narrow options and are used for precision work or finishing work. The coarseness of the file indicates the spacing of the teeth and the number of teeth per inch; the our different grades for American Pattern Files are coarse cut, bastard cut, second cut, and smooth cut. (In that order from fewest to most teeth per inch) The coarseness of the file also depends on the length from point to heel. Shop our online selection or contact us today for a custom quote.
