Spring Nuts

Channel nuts, also sometimes called spring nuts, are a type of nut that is designed to be used with slotted metal channels, like Unistrut or Superstrut . They have a closed shape on one side and a flat side with a threaded hole on the other side. The closed side has indentions or teeth that grip the edges of the channel when the nut is inserted.

Channel nuts are used to attach threaded rods, bolts, and other hardware to these slotted metal channels. They are commonly used in construction, electrical work, and other applications where you need to create a strong and secure connection between something and a slotted metal channel.

There are two main types of channel nuts:

  • Spring channel nuts: These have a spring clip on the inside that provides extra gripping force to hold the nut in place.
  • Springless channel nuts: These do not have a spring clip and rely on the friction between the teeth and the channel to hold the nut in place.

Spring channel nuts are generally a little more expensive than springless channel nuts, but they can provide a more secure connection.
