Straight fluted solid carbide drill bits feature a two straight flutes rather than the helical flute of twist drills. Designed for creating clean, round holes in wood, laminates and plastics, these drills won't dig or grab the material. However, their design does not allow for the clearing away of filings or chips, so they aren't ideal for deep holes.
