Sealant Tape / Thread Sealant Tape

Thread sealant tape, also know as plumber's tape, PTFR tape, tape dope and Teflon tape, is a polytetrafluretheylene (PTFE) film used to seal pipe threads. The low friction of PTFE allows the tape to be used as a lubricant in tapered pipe thread, which easily allows them to be screwed together, thus creating a good seal. Most commonly, it is used in applications such as, pressurized water systems, central heating systems and air compression equipment.
