Types of Threadlockers
There are 2 main types of thread lockers currently available: inert thread lockers and reactive thread lockers. Also known as prevailing torque, inert thread locking creates a secure fastening lock, which is resistant to vibration and shock related slippage. Reactive thread lockers are comprised of a chemical bond which is formed from the adhesive, preventing slippage from shock and vibration while helping to seal fastening points against gas and liquid leakage.
AFT offers many different types of both pre-applied inert and reactive thread locking processed as well as user-applied (bottled) thread lockers. A few options include: permanent and removable thread lockers, thread lockers for wood/plastic/nylon materials, reusable thread lockers, thread lockers that require or doesn't require drilling, and chemical-resistant thread lockers.

ND Pell-It® |
Used for locking & sealing, the ND Pell-It is a special, tough nylon plug or pellet, inserted into a drilled hole, which makes any threaded fastener self-locking and self-sealing, while leaving it fully adjustable. ND Pell-It Soft Touch Tip® |
Used for locking & sealing, the ND Pell-It Soft Touch Tip is a pre-applied, self-locking, self-sealing, environmentally friendly material pellet inserted in set screw or bolt ends. The ND stripe is used for locking and sealing, and is usually a resilient bar of Nylon (other materials available) that is inserted into a slot which has been milled into a threaded fastener. It's ideal for all types of commercial, automotive, and aerospace fasteners due to it's outstanding performance in both high and low temperatures. Vibra-Tite VC-3® |
Used for locking & sealing, Vibra-Tite VC-3 is a powerful locking and sealing coating for threaded fasteners that works on the principle of "friction through viscosity." It utilizes a special blend of acrylic resins to prevent fasteners from loosening - even under extreme vibration. It was designed for use on internal and external threads of almost any material or finish. Unlike many other pre-applied thread lockers, VC-3 does not require heat for it's application process. NylokHD® Patch is a high performance self-locking nylon retention element permanently bonded onto the threads of a nut via a special application technique. NylokHD® Patch will provide greater re-usability, and reduced torque scatter. When the patch is engaged, it creates a wedging action between the nut and mating part, compressing the nylon and promoting tight metal-to-metal contact opposite the patch. Nylok® Blue Nylon Pellet

Nylok® Blue Nylon Pellet & strip is a self-locking element comprised of nylon permanently embedded into the threads of a fastener. The pellet is a drilled hole with a plug of over sized nylon wedged into the hole. The strip is a milled slot with a string of over sized nylon wedged into the slot. When the pellet & strip are engaged it creates a wedge between the fastener and mating part compressing the nylon and creating metal to metal contact opposite the element. Nylok® Blue Nylon Strip |
Nylok® Torq-Strip® self-locking elements are permanently embedded in the threads of a fastener.
